上海科技教育出版社于1998年4月正式设立版权部，负责全社图书的国际合作和版权贸易工作。
5年多来，已成功地引进各国优秀科技、教育、文化类图书约130种，输出版权约70种，其中尤以中高级科普读物和科学文化类图书最具特色，为读书界、出版界和社会公众所乐道。
在引进版图书中，"哲人石丛书"、"普林斯顿科学文库"、"加德纳趣味数学系列"、"百大画库"等多套丛书均广获佳评。"哲人石丛书"中的《暗淡蓝点》、《生物技术世纪》、《终极抉择》、《分子探秘》、《人生舞台》，"普林斯顿科学文库"中的《天遇》，分别被评为全国2000年 、2001年和2002年"十大科普好书"或"最佳科普图书"等。"加德纳趣味数学系列"和"哲人石丛书"第二辑分别获全国2001年度和2002年度"引进版优秀图书入选奖"，"普林斯顿科学文库"被评为上海市2001-2002年度优秀引进版图书。
在输出版图书中，《诺贝尔奖百年鉴》（29卷）被评为全国"2001年度输出版优秀图书"和上海市2001-2002年度优秀输出版图书，并获"科学时报杯2002年最佳科普丛书奖"。《世界科技英才录》（4卷）获全国"2002年度输出版优秀图书奖"。
上海科技教育出版社在版权贸易中一贯坚持以诚信为本，因而在短短几年中已拥有广泛的国际合作伙伴，例如--

The Rights Department of Shanghai Scientific
and Technological Education Publishing House, found in April 1998,
is in charge of international cooperation and rights trade activities.
Since its establishment, some 130 titles have been imported and
about 70 titles exported. So much public praise has been received
by them, especially by titles in the fields of popular science and
scientific culture.
On the side of translation rights import,
Philosopher’s Stone Series, Princeton Science Library, Gardner’s
Series of Recreational Mathematics, 100 Greatest Series, Golden
Fleece Series, etc. have well received favorable comments. Five
books in Philosophers’ Stone Series, namely Pale Blue Dot, The Biotech
Century, A Choice of Catastrophes, Molecules at an Exhibition and
I.Asimov: A Memoir, and one book in Princeton Science Library, i.e.
Celestial Encounters are listed in the Nation-wide Top Popular Science
Books of ’2000, ’01 and ’02, successively. Gardner’s Series of Recreational
Mathematics and Collection 2 of Philosophers’ Stone Series won the
title of National Excellent Books Imported in 2001 and 2002, respectively,
and Princeton Science Library won the title of Shanghai Excellent
Books Imported in 2001-2002.
On the side of subsidiary rights export,
A Century’s Retrospective of Nobel Prize (totally 29 volumes) won
the awards of both National Prize for Copyrights Export in 2001
and Shanghai Excellent Books Exported in 2001-2002, as well as Science
Time’s Best Popular Science Series in 2002. World Genius in Science
and Technology (4 volumes) awarded of National Excellent Books Imported
in 2002.
